Pictograms

Pictograms

The pictograms are inspired by the Stora Enso logo and identifier shape. They express positive energy and playfulness. The purpose of the pictograms is to illustrate a specific word, phrase or idea – and communicate through associations that are commonly attached to an image or group of images.

The pictograms can be used in all materials and applications. The pictograms can be found on the BMT and they are also available in a built-in pictogram library in our PowerPoint template. More pictograms may be created but they must all follow the specified style. Download link can be found at the end of the page.

When creating a Stora Enso pictogram:

  • Always start with an already existing pictogram

  • Make sure all the anchor points are attached to the grid

  • Make sure that all lines have the same thickness (12 pt in the original .ai-files)

  • All endpoints of lines should be cut evenly, never rounded

  • Make the lines a bit crooked, to give the pictograms a playful expression

  • Aim to keep the pictogram inside the defined inner margin – to ensure that all pictograms have the same size

  • Since the pictograms often are applied in smaller formats, do not make them in too much detail

Pictogram colours

The pictograms can be used in all of the Stora Enso colours and tints. They can also be white when the background is too dark. They should never be black.
